TheRoboCupchallengeawardsaredistinctionsthataregivenannuallyto theRoboCup-relatedresearcherswiththegreatestpotentialtoadvancetheir respective?elds. TheannualRoboCupworkshopprovidesaforumforRoboCupresearchers toexchangeideasthataregenerallyapplicableacrossthedi?erentRoboCup leaguesand/orthatareofgeneralscienti?cinterest. TheRoboCup2000wo- shopreceivedmorethan60submissions,fromwhich20wereselectedforfull presentationandanadditional20wereselectedforposterpresentation. These researchpapersformthemainbodyofthisbook. Thebookconcludeswithdescriptionsofmostofthemorethan80teams thatcompetedinRoboCup2000. Theseteamdescriptionsservetocatalogthe fullrangeofresearchersandapproachesthathavebeenappliedtothechallenges putforthbyRoboCup.
